Detailed Itinerary
Days 1–2 (18-19 June) / Arrival & Southern Pantanal Immersion
Meet your guide at Campo Grande airport or your hotel. He will drive you directly into the Southern Pantanal, reaching Pousada Aguapé after approximately three hours.
This historic family-run fazenda, established over 150 years ago, is now one of the most respected lodges in the region. Cattle ranching coexists here with remarkably well-preserved nature. The owners are actively involved in conservation, notably supporting hyacinth macaw populations through artificial nesting programs and hosting the Tamanduá Institute, dedicated to the study and protection of giant anteaters.
Wildlife is present all around the lodge: rheas roaming the fields, capybaras near water bodies, armadillos digging throughout the property, monkeys, birds of prey, blue-and-yellow and hyacinth macaws, and giant anteaters searching for termites.
Over these two days, we alternate between daytime and night 4x4 safaris, guided walks, and quieter observation moments around the fazenda. It is a gentle yet incredibly rich introduction to the Pantanal.
