Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1 - Arrival in the Southern Pantanal
Meet your guide at Campo Grande airport or your hotel and transfer to Fazenda San Francisco, a vast estate renowned for its open landscapes and exceptional wildlife. After lunch, enjoy a boat safari along the river, with the possibility to try your hand at piranha fishing, a first immersion into Pantanal’s wild life.
In the evening, set off on a night safari in search of the region’s most elusive species: crab-eating foxes, owls, deer, tapirs, and perhaps the fleeting eyeshine of an ocelot.

DAY 2 - Full Safari Experience
After breakfast, embark on a 4x4 photo safari across the ranch’s savannas and wetlands. Keep your camera ready for marsh deer, toucans, jabirus, howler monkeys, and with luck, a giant anteater, or even a jaguar or puma.
In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful horseback ride through fields and forest, offering another angle on Pantanal’s landscapes and wildlife.
At dusk, another night safari reveals the nocturnal secrets of this unique ecosystem.

DAY 3 - Nature Walk & Transfer to Bonito
This morning, a guided walk along an ecological trail takes you to a scenic lookout point.
After lunch, drive to Bonito, Brazil’s ecotourism capital.
Stay at Hotel Águas do Bonito, a welcoming family-run lodge surrounded by lush gardens, known for its comfort, delicious regional cuisine, spa, and bird-watching area.

DAY 4 - Macaws & Crystal-Clear Rivers
Visit the spectacular Buraco das Araras, a giant sinkhole over 100 m deep, home to flocks of scarlet and hyacinth macaws and many other bird species. You’ll have about four hours for birdwatching and photography.
After lunch at a nearby fazenda, discover one of Bonito’s highlights: snorkeling down a crystalline river, floating effortlessly among colorful fish and lush aquatic vegetation, a natural aquarium experience.
Alternative: excellent birdwatching options are also available.

DAY 5 - Pousada Aguapé: Walk & Night Safari
Morning transfer to Pousada Aguapé, a charming lodge in one of the most wildlife-rich areas of the Southern Pantanal.
Enjoy an ecological walk in search of giant anteaters and iconic birds, followed by a night safari to spot nocturnal wildlife.

DAY 6 - Dawn Safari & Flight to the Northern Pantanal
At sunrise, a final 4x4 safari across the floodplains offers last encounters in the South.
After breakfast, transfer to Campo Grande for your flight to Cuiabá. Rest at the Airport Amazon Hotel, very comfortable and conveniently located before the next leg of your adventure.

DAY 7 – The Transpantaneira Road: Gateway to Jaguar Country
Travel along the legendary Transpantaneira Road, crossing wooden bridges and endless wildlife scenes en route to Porto Jofre.
Evening arrival at your accommodation by the Cuiabá River: either the comfortable Santa Rosa Lodge, the high end Hotel Porto Jofre or the unique Aguapé Float Hotel, set in the heart of jaguar territory.

DAYS 8–11 – On the Trail of Jaguars
Four full days dedicated to jaguar observation. Board small, fast boats with expert pilots to explore the Cuiabá River and its labyrinth of channels: the best place in the world to see jaguars in the wild.
These river safaris also bring encounters with giant otters, capybaras, caimans, herons, jabirus, and countless tropical birds. Morning light safaris, bird-rich wetlands, and late afternoon outings ensure maximum opportunities for sightings and photography.

Experience the Jaguar Safari Like Never Before
DAY 12 – Return to Cuiaba
After breakfast, drive back along the Transpantaneira to Cuiabá. A farewell lunch concludes your adventure before your onward flight or extension to other regions of Brazil.
