A Historic Family Pousada

Located in the southern Pantanal, Pousada Aguapé is a family-owned fazenda operating for over 150 years, transformed into one of the region’s most beautiful lodges.

Owned by the same family for six generations, it has preserved the authenticity of Pantanal hospitality while becoming a key player in conservation.

Conservation and Wildlife in Action

Cattle ranching coexists here with wild nature. The lodge is renowned for protecting endangered species, including installing artificial nests for the hyacinth macaw, the world’s largest parrot.

Aguapé also hosts the Tamanduá Institute, which researches and protects giant anteaters and other rare Pantanal mammals. Visitors may encounter researchers and naturalists in the field, creating a unique experience where tourism and science go hand in hand.

Immersive Experiences

Wildlife is everywhere: rheas crossing the pastures, armadillos foraging, capybara herds along the rivers, and a spectacular diversity of birds.

Activities include 4x4 safaris, horseback rides, boat excursions, guided nature walks, and night safaris.

Comfortable rooms, a peaceful pool, homemade meals inspired by traditional recipes, and the welcoming family atmosphere make Pousada Aguapé an authentic and memorable Pantanal experience.
